I BLOODY LOVE WHAT I DO!!!

At the age of 30 I knew that I no longer wanted a career working in a lab, maybe it was the company that put me off, maybe it was the people working there, or maybe I just didn't find my purpose working in a lab. It was a hard decision to make not only for myself but, for my husband and two small kids.

I studied 5 years at Loughborough Uni, and have a Masters in Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry, did I enjoy it.....most of it! I liked being away from home, finding my independence, and I suppose I did like the challenge. I finished with a First Class Hons, this maybe a massive achievement in some people eyes, but I don't really see it like that. I think anyone can do anything they want to, if they really and, I mean REALLY want it! The key thing that worked for me during my studies was lots of past papers and studying bloody hard! I guess I do have a good work ethic and I do believe anything is possible if you believe it is and, that things always happen for a reason.

I worked in a lab for a few years....it wasn't great and I was miserable! I hated it! I don't think we should be working in jobs we hate, there are always other things to train in or become, we are never stuck....well unless you choose to be stuck!

I fell pregnant at age 26, had my first when I was 27...some may say this is young, but I've always wanted kids before I was 30, and I achieved it. I was 29 nearly 30 when I had my youngest. Having and raising kids is the hardest thing I have ever done, and I've definitely learnt a lot about myself and the way I think. Kids challenge you, sometimes break you, but they sure do teach you about life and I'm extremely grateful to have both my kids in my life. I am a completely different person because of them, I no longer hide so much, I'm proud of who I am and I'm a lot more confident because of them. Thank you kids, you are my rock, as well as my husband!

At age 30 I decided to not go back to work in the pharmaceutical industry, I decided to be a stay at home Mum. It was tough, I wasn't originally from the town I live in, I had no family here and my husband worked a lot and was away quite a lot when the kids were little.

When the kids were a bit older I decided to start a running group for Mums who maybe in a similar situation to me, I named the group Run Mums. It was a place Mums could go to if they needed a chat about any worries whilst getting a bit of fresh air and some exercise. This group has progressed over the past 4 years, and I'm super proud of how it is going.

A few years back in 2020 I qualified to come a Personal Trainer, I had been looking at doing it for a few years, but didn't have the confidence to do it, after a few years of looking I finally decided to go for it! Two years on I'm so glad I decided to make that decision, its been hard to start a business whilst a pandemic was happening, but I know this is my passion and purpose and I will always make it work, I care too much about it for it to not work.

2 years down the line of Personal Training, and I can honestly say I am here, and I belong, I have found what I want to do and I bloody LOVE what I do. I have trained over two handfuls of women over the past 2 years, I have helped them to achieve their goals, but more importantly I have helped them gain confidence and belief in their abilities. After all we are all capable of anything....as long as you believe you are. With this belief comes hard work, consistency, dedication and commitment and we all have this in us, it just depends if you are ready and whether you can accept where you are at this present time.

So, here I am.....I belong and I BLOODY love what I do!!!!!
